Church Community Music School Opens Doors in Brovary, Ukraine
Lessons began this month at the First Kyiv Church's new community music school, Gloria.
This school is open to all interested people and currently has students ranging in age from 6 to 57-years-old, including 27 children.
MIWC Associate Vitaliy Bolgar said, "I am grateful to God that he has sent us the opportunities to carry out this ministry in the area of music."
Group lessons in Music Theory, Guitar, Percussion, Piano, Violin and Singing are featured, along with a vocal ensemble where every students sings.
Bolgar hopes it will be possible to open similar church music schools in other communities in Kyiv Oblast.
Recent instrument donations from MIWC supporters have helped the Gloria school's students as they start their musical training.
In October, Bolgar presented the school with a cello, a gift from MIWC as a token of desire to work together.
He presented the instrument at a meeting with the school and members of the Baptist Church in Brovary.
Bolgar will coordinate a partnership between the music school and the church for the development of local ministry.
The church has its own music school, but will work with the city music school in areas such as master classes and seminars.
MIWC President Steve Benham looks forward to speaking to the teachers at Brovary Music School in May.
