2015-2016: Where We've Been and Where We're Headed
At Music in World Cultures, we are so grateful to the Lord to have you along on this journey with us. As we look back at our ministry work from 2015, we ask for your prayers that we can faithfully discern God's will for what lies ahead in 2016.
May God bless you and your family in the year ahead!
A Look Back at 2015
Hope Fest L'viv – Led by MIWC Associate Serhiy Bilokin and MIWC President Steve Benham, a 2,800-member choir and orchestra performed for 39,000 worshipers at the Franklin Graham Festival of Hope in L'viv, Ukraine in June. Thousands committed to following Jesus Christ and music ministries in 10 western Ukraine provinces were strengthened.
Brazil – MIWC Founder John Benham worked with a team to create worship music in an indigenous language and musical style for a tribe in Brazil, enabling the tribe to begin creating its own biblically-sound worship music.
Georgia – MIWC Associate Vitaliy Bolgar continued with the flourishing music training program with the churches in the nation of Georgia, and led a group of Ukrainians on an outreach tour, which included interaction with a group of Muslim children on the border with Azerbaijan.
History Book – MIWC Associate James Janzen completed work on his Ukrainian-language textbook on the History of Music from a Christian perspective. The text has already been used in several training conferences.
Jamaica – MIWC expanded into the Caribbean by laying the groundwork for ministry in the country of Jamaica. An outreach center, music and worship training programs and youth music camps are all in development.
