Kenya

WHERE WE ARE

  • Active in Western Kenya in partnership with the Fountain of Wisdom Chapel in Elodret.
  • Kenya boasts a population of more than 57 million, with more than 40 percent of those people under the age of 15.
  • This extremely young population faces challenges that arise from early marriage and child-bearing, as well as overcoming historically corrupt government systems.
  • 98% of Kenyans report having a religious belief system – of those, 85% are Christian and 10% are Muslim. Less than 2% claim to have no religious faith at all.

WHAT WE DO

MIWC connected with the Fountain of Wisdom Chapel (FOWC), a group of churches across central and east Africa, in 2020. Headquartered in Eldoret, Pastor Job Simiyu leads FOWC and its missions outreach program.

This program plants churches and actively serves in local schools, ministering to students and teachers. When visiting schools, the team uses music to capture the attention and hearts of thousands of students, and then carefully ministers to whatever physical and emotional needs the children have.

Pastor Job and his wife, Nellie, continue to build a strong young adult mentorship program focused on raising up the next generation of Kenyans to leadership roles in their community and churches.
